McLaren W1 Deliveries Begin as Production Ramps Up
McLaren Automotive has confirmed that customer deliveries of the highly anticipated W1 hypercar have commenced, with the first examples reaching owners in Europe and the Middle East.
The W1, which sits at the apex of McLaren's range, produces a combined 1,258 horsepower from its 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 and electric motor. McLaren claims a 0-60 mph time of 2.7 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 217 mph.
Production is limited to just 399 units worldwide, with each carrying a base price of approximately $2.1 million. Early resale market indicators suggest significant premiums, with several allocations reportedly changing hands for well above MSRP.
The W1 represents a significant technological leap for McLaren, featuring an all-new carbon fibre structure, active aerodynamics generating over 1,000kg of downforce, and a bespoke Pirelli tyre developed specifically for the car.
